Heather Bouchier, a fashion designer from Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation (Treaty Six), combines her formal training from the Academy of Fashion Design with traditional Cree techniques. Her designs, featuring upcycled materials and inspired by vintage styles with a modern twist, have graced red carpets at events like TIFF and the Junos. With collections showcased across North America and Japan, Heather also shares her skills through workshops, including regalia making and beading for at-risk youth. Currently, she runs her own business offering jewelry, alterations, bridal wear, couture, custom sewing, and cosplay design.
