Masa Shiroki founded the company in 2007 with the goal of spreading a distinctly Canadian rice and sake culture while operating in a sustainable, locally-focused manner. Tradition meets innovation at Vancouver’s only sake winery, resulting in a one-of-a-kind collection of rice wine products that are truly Canadian. The winery’s small-batch OSAKE sake range includes traditional interpretations as well as unique products that raise eyebrows. Artisan SakeMaker released its first sake made entirely of Canadian materials in 2015, after seven years of trial in rice farming, processing, and sake manufacturing. The ground-breaking new offering is a true Canadian expression of sake, created to complement the region’s seasonal bounty and cuisine.
