Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Judy Villett‘s artistic practice integrates various techniques, starting with commercial or hand-dyed fabrics that she stencils, paints, embellishes, pieces, appliqués, and ultimately machine quilts. Inspired by the interplay of light and dark, the vibrancy of colour, and the textures of her surroundings, her wall hangings have been exhibited in juried and solo shows across Canada, England, and Japan. A passionate educator, Judy thrives on the energy and enthusiasm of her adult students at 100 Braid Street Studios, and she actively travels throughout Canada to teach, lecture, and judge.
