Based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Moja Coffee draws significant inspiration from the vibrant coffee cultures of San Francisco and Milan. Our journey began far removed from these influences, starting in the basement of our home, where Doug Finley and Andrew Wentzel embarked on their coffee adventure. During the initial months, we immersed ourselves in all things coffee, travelling to Africa to explore coffee plantations and training on Probat roasters in San Francisco. In 2004, we named the company Moja, meaning “one” in Swahili, honouring Andrew’s Tanzanian roots. We began operations in a former garage near Capilano Mall and moved to our current facility on Rupert Street in 2008, where we proudly showcase our Canadian-made products. With the recent addition of a second café on Commercial Drive, we’re excited for future growth as our story continues.
