Oso Negro, established in Nelson, BC, in 1993, began roasting coffee in a century-old brick-lined room with a small roaster. Focusing on fresh, simple, and enjoyable coffee, they shared their learning process with customers in their combined roastery and café. Later, they partnered with The Only Bagel Co., creating a popular social hub. Upgrading to a larger roaster, Oso Negro launched new compostable coffee bags and a website in 2023. These eco-friendly bags keep coffee fresh for 10 weeks.
