Established in 1970 as a government project, the Fort McPherson Tent and Canvas Shop has evolved into a thriving local business, employing 17 community members. Situated above the Arctic Circle in a Gwich’in community, the shop draws upon generations of Indigenous skills in crafting traditional clothing and footwear. Today, we produce a wide range of durable and practical goods, from canvas wall tents and tipis to bags and accessories. Utilizing the finest materials and employing expert craftsmanship, we create products designed to withstand the harshest Arctic conditions.
