Melanie and Jake are thrilled to be working closely together as a family, building on the rich farming tradition surrounding them in pomiculture and viticulture as well as the pioneers in wine and cider-making in Nova Scotia. They want Beausoleil Farmstead to become a specialised cider and winery built on their guiding principle of fusing sustainable farming with cellar research. In both the cider and wine realms, vinous ciders are a new category. They are created either through co-fermentation or by fermenting the apples and wine grapes separately and combining them once the fermentation process is finished. These intriguing concoctions have a rich, exquisite style, lively freshness, and fruity aromatics.
