The 200-year-old granite and ironstone heritage structure that houses the Halifax Brewery Farmers’ Market is situated in the heart of Halifax. On this property, farmers’ market operations started in 1983, and in 2010, a committed group of sellers established their cooperative. Their mission is to aid in the growth and sustainability of the neighbourhood economy by assisting small-scale, regional food producers and craftsmen.
