Seaforth Studio: Marlene York is a Nova Scotian artist working in various media, including oil, watercolour, local clays, and mixed media, as well as conté, pencil, and charcoal drawing. Painting and drawing on location and in her studio, she explores landscapes, still life, portraits, and the human figure, captivated by the interplay of light and shadow. A member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia since 1996, she has exhibited extensively and taught art workshops across Canada, including at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and in schools throughout the Halifax region. Her Seaforth studio offers classes for children and teens, and she also provides private lessons for students with autism.
