Kivalliq Arctic Foods processing plant is well-known throughout the North and creates a variety of high-quality meat and fish products. The facility receives supplies of muskox, caribou, and arctic char from fishermen and harvesters around Nunavut. Kivalliq Arctic Foods employs seven to twelve local butchers and processors of meat. Additionally, Kivalliq Arctic Foods provides Nunavummiut with the “Country Food Pak” throughout the region. This covers a range of locally available foods, including as char, caribou, muskox, and maktaaq.
Customers in any Nunavut settlement can order Country Food Paks directly from Kivalliq Arctic Foods. Most products can be purchased in individual quantities from partner Nunavut merchants, such as Ivalu in Rankin Inlet. Plant tours can be arranged with advance notice.
