Located in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, ‘Tavvi the brand‘ is a clothing brand founded by Amy Aingidlik, an Inuk designer from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. From a young age, Amy learned traditional sewing techniques from her family and elders in her community. She later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she earned a Diploma in Fashion Design. Tavvi creates outerwear inspired by urban streetwear, meticulously selecting materials, including fox fur and zippers, for each piece. Handcrafted in Winnipeg, Tavvi celebrates the vibrant culture and heritage of the North, prioritizing quality and durability to meet the needs of Arctic living while promoting Indigenous designs and supporting local artisans.
