My companion Mark and I began our trip in the late 1990s, when we encountered a strange character named Dr. Steve Thorning. He was the Deputy Reeve of our small community of Elora, and I was the president of the local BIA, or business improvement district. Eventually our journey began with the purchase of a wonderful location in downtown Elora and the construction and equipping of our new Distillery from the ground up. We’ve completed all of our licencing requirements and are now open to the public, serving delicious alcoholic beverages. I hope that over the next few years, the vision of our Elora Distilling Co. develops and you can taste the rewards of our labours.
