David Johnson and Louise Engel own and run Featherstone Estate Winery. This husband and woman combination first achieved notoriety in the Guelph area when they opened The Guelph Poultry Gourmet Market in 1986. They came to the wine sector after a career committed to culinary excellence and a love of wine.
In 1999, David and Louise bought their vineyard. The Featherstone winery was created over several years, and less grapes were shipped off. At the same time, some of the grape varietals that had been planted were being upgraded. Since 1999, the winery has distinguished itself in Niagara as an insecticide-free and environmentally conscious producer.
