Jewels Under the Kilt, Ontario - Canadian Made Nuts

My husband and I relocated to a 90-acre farm in Fergus, Ontario, in 2010 to pursue our lifelong ambition of living in the country. We became so enthralled by nature and space that we dreamed of becoming environmentally responsible farmers. We planned to plant five nut trees for the family, but then we wondered why. As a result, we planted 100 trees. The nuts were delicious. We enjoyed being able to live off the land. We donated them to friends and neighbours, and for the next two years, I grew, cooked, and created recipes using our own nuts. We devised our maple roasted nut recipes and developed our patent-pending roasting method during this time. They were really popular. The idea for Jewels Under the Kilt was created!
