Located in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Québec, Bonbon Rio Candy Inc. was founded in 1971 by two immigrant brothers, Dino and Nikitas Madonis, who drew on their experience from their father’s popular candy shop in Rodos, Greece. Today, the company proudly employs over 40 staff members working across three shifts to maintain 24-hour production. Specializing in ice cream cones, Bonbon Rio manufactures a wide variety, from mini cones and cups to waffle cones and bowls. Despite the evolution of the business since its humble beginnings, the company values its human assets, proudly retaining employees who have grown alongside it, making them part of the family.
